Alba Contreras was born in Venezuela but moved to Boston when she was 9. Being undocumented did not stop her from dreaming to go to college or going to law school. Today she is a mom of two, a Latina lawyer who helps Latinx lawyers build their own law firm on their own terms. This is her story.
Alba Contreras is an immigrant, mom, lawyer, and manages her own firm under her own terms. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, and a J.D. from Suffolk Law school. She practices law in Massachusetts and focuses on immigration law.
She started her journey in a private firm, and later practiced in a non-profit setting. As she gained practical experience it ignited her passion to open her own firm.
Today she successfully manages the business side of her firm and continue to practice law, all while doing it under her own terms!
Currently she is also a business coach for lawyers and offers 1:1 coaching to other Latina lawyers who are ready to launch their own firm under their own terms without compromising their values.
